What you get
- Built for legal AI
- In chunk mode every chunk stays inside one section, such as headnote, facts or reasons, and carries court, file number and marginal numbers (Randnummern). Your assistant cites “BGH, IX ZB 72/08, Rn. 4–6” instead of guessing.
- Clean, separate fields
- ECLI, cited norms, headnote (Leitsatz), operative part (Tenor), facts (Tatbestand) and reasons (Gründe) as their own fields, plus the full text as Markdown. Lower court instances come split into court, date and file number.
- Alerts for new case law
- Turn on “only new since the last run” and add a daily schedule. Each saved task keeps its own position, so a tenancy law alert and an employment law alert never get in each other’s way.
- Precise filters
- Court, decision date, decision type, file number (Aktenzeichen) and keywords in the full text and cited norms. Umlauts are handled, so “Kuendigung” finds “Kündigung”.
Questions
Which courts are covered?
All federal courts published on rechtsprechung-im-internet.de, the official portal of the Federal Ministry of Justice: BGH, BVerfG, BVerwG, BFH, BAG, BSG, BPatG and the Joint Senate, from January 2010 to today.
What does it cost?
$0.003 per decision ($3 per 1,000), a $0.02 start fee per run, and $0.0005 for each decision searched by a keyword or type filter without a match. Platform usage and proxies are included. 100 BGH decisions as RAG chunks cost about $0.32.
Can I use it from my own code or an AI agent?
Yes. Call it through the Apify API from Python or JavaScript, connect it to Make, Zapier or n8n, or add it to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and other AI agents as a tool with one URL: https://mcp.apify.com?tools=layerwiselabs/german-court-decisions
How fresh is the data?
The portal publishes new decisions every working day, usually 20 to 90 across all courts. Every run reads the current table of contents, so it sees everything published up to that moment.
